Marvin Killgore, January 31, 2009
In 2009, I started making books out of meteorites as well as paintings using pigments derived from meteorites. In my explorations of all things meteoritical, I have had the great pleasure of meeting and working with Marvin Killgore. Marvin is a man of many talents: he is the curator of meteorites for the Lunar and Planetary Laboratory at the University of Arizona; he is one of the great meteorite hunters and the proprietor of Southwest Meteorite Laboratory; and he is also a fine guitarist. Several years ago he acquired this magnificent meteorite, known as the Fukang pallasite. It weighs a mere 420 kg. This photo was taken at GeoDécor at the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show.
