The debut of Habitations

Seattle, Washington, August 6, 2008

I spent the year of 2008 painting into a poem by Sam Hamill titled Habitations.  Eventually, these paintings became a book by the same title, which I first exhibited at Davidson Galleries in Seattle.  The night before the opening, a friend held a great party in honor of the book. This photograph was taken by Peter de Lory at that party. I am introducing the book, and Sam (who you can see sitting on the couch) is about to read the poem.

The exhibition was recreated in a 3D scene using Photosynth. This is a really amazing tool (requires the Silverlight plugin).
